About
At Au.RUM DAWN, our name is a gentle nod to the elegance and enduring nature of gold ('Au' in the periodic table stemming from the Latin word for gold 'aurum'), and it reflects the Korean word '아름다운' (areumdaun), meaning 'lovely'—an essence we strive to capture in each design.
The roots of this brand lie in a personal journey, emerging from a childhood where jewelry was a luxury beyond our means. As the child of immigrants in a low-income household, I understood when my mother sold her wedding rings, it was more than a financial necessity—it was an act of hope for our future. Her sacrifice introduced me to the deeper significance of jewelry: not just as adornment but as a mark of love, resilience, and a testament to our past and our path forward.
In our curated selections, you'll discover pieces crafted to honor the belief that everyone deserves to own jewelry that is not only beautiful and unique but also meaningful and attainable. Our capsule collections are designed with adaptability in mind, versatile enough to be donned in various styles, speaking to the pragmatism that life often demands. And alongside these, our individual statement pieces stand as tributes to those singular, defining moments in life, much like the first piece of gold I chose for myself—a token of accomplishment and personal identity.
Au.RUM DAWN is a homage to every person's story that, like mine, is adorned with both the everyday and the extraordinary. It's an invitation to those who seek to express their history, their triumphs, and their dreams through the timeless beauty of jewelry—pieces that hold a story, a purpose, and an essence of something truly lovely.
This pair of necklaces celebrates personal milestones with cherished heritage. The left piece, my first solid gold purchase engraved with 'MinJi'—my Korean name—symbolizes the resilience and determination it took to navigate through college and graduate school full time while working 60+ hours a week. The companion piece honors a family legacy, showcasing the remaining pearl from my mother's wedding studs, now reimagined as a pendant with a gracefully set bezel diamond. Together, they embody the stories of my roots and the paths I've carved out for myself.
